Sundays at New Hope

What is it like to come to New Hope on a Sunday Morning?

Here are a few things you can expect:

  1. You are going to hear the Gospel. The message of the Bible from start to finish is that God loves His people and stops at nothing to redeem those who recognize their sin and their need for a Savior. This is the heart of our service.
  2. We have a mix of contemporary and liturgical elements in our service, so you’ll want to pick up a bulletin when you come in. We basically follow the same order of service each week, including a call to worship, call to repentance, the assurance of the gospel, confession of our common faith, and a sermon. We sing from a hymnal, and use newer choruses as well.
  3. We like you to come as you are: God doesn’t ask you to be well before coming to Him, he promises to make you well when you come to him. In Mark 2:17 Jesus states, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I came not to call the righteous, but sinners.” This also means that we don’t care too much how you dress. Some dress casual, some dress up. Kids are welcome in the family integrated worship service. We also offer a self-service nursery for parents with small children who wish to listen to the service while their children play.
  4. We work hard to recognize that every individual has a unique story with unique strengths and weaknesses. At New Hope we want to show you how your unique, individual story is part of the larger story of the gospel. We want to make sure you are heard, and then shown how the gospel uniquely fits your needs.
  5. Expect to be welcomed! We love to have visitors even if you are just stopping by one time!

Our Sunday Morning Worship starts at 10 AM
Following the Worship Service we have a brief time of fellowship. If you choose to stay, Sunday School follows the worship service and fellowship time. (Children are welcome to stay and participate with their family.)

Communion Sundays & Fellowship Meals
On the first Sunday of each month we celebrate Communion during our worship service. Following the Communion service, after a brief time of fellowship in the sanctuary, you are welcome to join us for a potluck-style Fellowship Meal. The Fellowship Meal is open to all, even if you don’t have a dish to pass. We love to have fellowship with our brothers and sisters, and welcome guests! (On Communion Sundays we have Fellowship Meal time in lieu of Sunday School time, and resume Sunday School the following week.)
